Malc went in to the boulangerie at Laguepie this morning to buy up any remaining croissants, because as we all now know the baker is not dead as was once reported. While ordering Malc bent to stroke the cat from the window (if you have been you'll know who I mean) who had jumped down to rub himself around Malc's leg. Unfortunately the cat has a stump of a tail which got caught in the ties hanging from the bottom of Malc's trousers. Malc gently tried to undo its tail but it must have hurt as the cat went in to demon mode, scratching and biting. Malc's hand was quite a sight to behold with blood dripping all over the floor of the shop, but the cat was still attached to his strings. The mature lady who looks after the shop sometimes [not the alive and kicking owners's wife] ran in to the back and came back with a pair of scissors. Malc cut the offending strings and fortunately his trousers did not fall down. The poor cat was then roundly beaten around the shop by a long handled brush, with Malc shouting all the time ''it was not the cat's fault, stop, stop". Our young people, children and Mum and Dad were waiting at the Troubadour with ''allongés'' ready on the table.. and we were told ''what are you like?'' as Malc nursed his now bandaged hand and I said ''we do not really need to go to a pantomime, that's our life!''
Another thing about Laguepie which is accurate and we are very pleased about, they have installed on a tree by the river a 'doggy pooh bag dispenser'' which we do hope everyone will use. I get fed up of picking up other dogs pooh trying to keep the beach clean. Oh! and the swimming platforms are out and the climbing frame has been mended.
