That horrible blue jellyfish with long tentacles is back on beaches in the Landes, so take care if you spot one even if it is dead. If you are stung initially try and rub off with sand or a credit card and then wash with sea water. The effects of the poison can include stinging, breathing problems and excessive shaking.
