Toussaint as important to the French as Christmas day to us.

Toussaint / All Saints Day, a public holiday here in France is an important day in the French Calendar.  Families get together to honour their dead and then enjoy a family evening meal together. At our French hairdresser' s today Beatrice was quite suprised that we were not celebrating with family and in fact had not taken the day into particular account.
