We reported that the fairground workers (forains) were causing blockages in the town of Lavaur and the nearby A68 to protest at the cancellation of the fair for security reasons. After consultations with the Prefecture and local gendarmerie it is now agreed that the fair can go ahead this weekend. The Prefect has promised sufficient police presence to reduce any terrorist threat and the mairie and the forains will take measures locally to ensure the fair is well-managed.
