The plane, belonging to a Belgian operator for the Tui tour company, was due to take off at 6am for Malaga with 126 passengers, bringing a similar number back. Then it was to fly to Lanzarote and back. On Sunday it was scheduled to fly to Ibiza and back and operate from Marseille to Malaga and back. None of those flights took off on time and some passengers had waits of up to 40 hours, being shuttled back and forth to hotels - which did not always have enough rooms. A Spanish Airbus 340 was chartered to break the log-jam, but obviously a lot of angry passengers are demanding answers (and compensation). The numbers affected were summarised in La Depeche:

Sont également concernés 145 passagers du vol Marseille-Malaga et 145 passagers du vol Malaga-Marseille, qui ont enregistré, eux aussi, des retards supérieurs à 36 heures.
