Just call me " Mammie"
How many late nights can I cope with, after midnight again when I tumbled into bed after my shift at Rehoboth. We had a few ups and downs, the"x" ray van had been with a Doctor and boys generally have a clean bill of health. Those with coughs have now got antibiotics and soon will be on the road to recovery. Officials had been from the prefecture to continue with the boys taking out asylum. One boy who does not understand French and English was sure he was going to be refused and so decided he was going back to Calais today. Animatrice Anais and I persauded him he had got the wrong end of the stick and he must stay. I got both his hands and said "your staying, staying here" In the end I hope he understood and said he would stay. After that every time he passed he gave me a cuddle and said I was his Mammie. I now have at least 5 calling me Mammie which I discovered later on when someone showed me a picture of their Mammie / is grandma.
I will be happy when I get the honorary title " Mammie" from them all.
Today 5 helpers are taking our cars full to the mosque at Caussade and after that visit, off on a shopping trip to buy articles of clothing and shoes that the boys desperately need. The money
donated by FET will be put to good use.
