Dear Val and Malcom,
Dust off your camera and get snapping
Did you know that a Frenchman, Nicéphore Niépce was the first to create a photograph in the early part of the 1800's. After his death in 1833, Louis Daguerre partnered with Isidore Niépce to create the first photographic process. Fast forward over 150 years and we now have a plethora of digital cameras installed into computers, phones and even glasses.
As the early photographic pioneers enjoyed a challenge I am sure that you snappers would too. This site gurushots.com, hosts challenges on a wide range of photographic subjects. Just upload your photos, you can vote on other peoples shots and if you are lucky you can win prizes. But treat it as a bit of fun and a way to get better at what you do.
Here are a some shots that I have entered into the macro category, one of a Granville fritillary on a clover, a pair of Rose Chafers on a hawthorn flower and finally a crab spider that has taken a fancy to a bee.
