We are reminded in our newsletter from the Maire that cleaning cars at home is forbidden and could result in a fine article 38 - 7 of the public health act.
Also burning household or garden rubbish is forbidden and could incur a fine.
Not a lot of people know this and although it is the Mayor of Varen who has reminded us it applies equally throughout France.
They are laws.
We now have an excuse for our two dirty cars, bit of a relief really and we do take garden rubbish to the tip in the remorque. What is the English word for that thing?
Someone asked why you cannot wash your car and it is because unauthorised water is not allowed down the drains!
( All water has to be passed by the Mayor comes to mind)
Someone suggested " does the Mayor own the local car wash?"
