So often relating deaths in the Pyrenees, it is with pleasure I can tell you about a family that lived. Walking in the Pyrenees Atlantique by the ski station Gourette, the family from Pau were engulfed by an avalanche but were quickly rescued by the mountain rescue team. The mother and two girls were pulled out quickly and were shaken but well and another 2 members of the family were taken to hospital with what is thought to be minor injuries.
I bet they are thanking their lucky stars tonight.
