The annual Salon de l'Agriculture in Paris opens tomorrow. This is the most important shop window for French agricultural industries and producers. Local producers of everything from Aveyron beef to Roquefort cheese to bio wine and beer will be transporting and exhibiting their animals and wares at the Salon. Cows and bulls are washed, dried and primped to look like top models, their private boxes at the show are lined with deep litter (occasionally shared by the groom in need of a quick nap) and everyone gets ready to meet the 700000 or so visitors expected over the weekend.
