We want it in Varen to foster good relations between the French and the non French speaking communities. 20% of homes in Varen are owned by English, French, Dutch, Belgian, Australians etc. basically not naturally speaking French folk.
Marcia Scott a fluent French, English and Dutch speaker is now on the council and one of her briefs is to foster good relationships between us all. She is presenting the idea of the show to the Maire who had asked her for ideas for a new event.
When we get the certain go ahead we will be telling you what vegetables, plants and flowers you will need to tend to be a show winner. The show will have French and English judges and there will be cakemaking, photography, handicraft, childrens categories etc. etc. On the day there will be donkey rides around the village, boules games and games for children. All in all a good family day out for all nationalities.
