You might think that there is not much more than the language barrier to overcome when moving to France. Well, that’s what I thought. I know the culture is different, there’s the long lunch break, for a start, that is as dear to the French as the Americans’ right to firearms. Let’s take the simple act of refuelling at, say, a supermarket filling station.
