Walter and Renata our ex neighbours from Munich, are back for a few days holiday, looking out at their former home from our gite. Last night we were invited to a traditional Bavarian meal with lashings of beer; beer specially produced for the October Beer Festival. Malc seems to remember that it was very good! The beer is made by brewers in a special way and bottled as that year's Oktoberfest Festival beer.
Also on offer a variety of sausages, some with the entrée and then weisswurst, plump white boiled sausage for the main course, very delicious but filling. Being a three sausage person was an accolade Malc and Walter achieved, and we both managed the tuition on skinning them with style, it is all in the technique apparently, like eating spaghetti.
It is so interesting the different cuisines each nation has for the festivals which are celebrated. With something like an alcohol percentage in the beer of 6 percent one can see why the Munich beer festival goes with such a swing.
