I am sorry that we will have to cancel our lunch scheduled for thursday 26th sept. Christina has some illness in the family and wont be able to cook for us all. She hopes to invite you on your journey on The Orient Express at a future date .. watch this space.
In the mean time we will be holding a different type of lunch on thursday 3rd October and i do hope you can all come along. This lunch will take the theme of QUICHE, QAKE AND QOFFEE !! and we will also be holding an enormous Vide Grenier to sell all the lovely items of clothing, books and bric a brac which have been donated to the donkeys for resale. we have an enormous amount here which we hope to sell on that day. all items will be at bargain prices. bring along anything on the day that you wish to donate !
Please support us by coming on thursday 3rd october, the price for this meal will be 15 euros, including wine, all proceeds to the donkeys. We will offer you delicious quiches with salad, potato salad and wine, cakes and coffee to follow.
We have another new donkey in called Denise who had terribly deformed hooves on arrival. Our farrier came yesterday to trim her hooves and she is so much better. Unfortunaely for her, when she arrived, she had a full udder and was distressed so i tracked back to where she came from to see if we could buy her foal which she had obviously just left behind, as she was searching everywhere for her, but through a dealer we learnt that her previous owners wanted to keep the foal and get rid of the mother !! she is grazing with 2 other female donkeys for company and making progress day by day, although she is still looking around, so sad but nothing more i can do for her except keep her happy !!

Val says - How sad for the foal as his or her hooves are going to have the same problems as the mother and because of the early separation you are going to end up with one sad and one seriously disturbed donkey.
