Army manoevres in Rabastens, in the Tarn

In the streets of Rabastens today was street fighting, soldiers hiding around every corner with weapons at  the ready, the army was on manoevres taking the bridge. I wonder how many residents had not had the warning or how many foriegn residents did not understand the warning about the day. The streets seemed to be very quiet in the town as we watched the French local news, but it made me remember another army invasion. It must be nearly ten years ago when the soldiers from the Caylus barracks were out taking the bridge at Le Riols. We had a friend who lived in the village and got the shock of her life to see these heavily armed, camouflaged men fighting around the small bridge around the Aveyron and the train line. She thought afterwards there may have been a warning but perhaps she had not understood. Just the sort of thing to give you quite a scare!
