Two photos from Laura

Hi Val and Malc
1st day back in Calais.  With so many new faces, & numbers apparently now nearing 8000, the jungle was this morning totally unrecognisable.  Apparently, the numbers are constantly shifting as new people arrive & the gendarmes move those who have chosen to seek asylum in France out & into housing elsewhere around the country.  Good news on the site is that there are now many, many shelters.  We worked part of the morning in the construction warehouse before being diverted off onto 2 projects:  one to house new arrivals overnight & one to build a safe lockable shed to put into the jungle with tents , blankets & food for those who arrive with nothing.  We hope to have both projects finished tomorrow.  Donations were greeted with open arms by the warehouse staff.  Yesterday & today we made great use of funds .... all positive stuff, thanks to people's generosity.

Part of the construction warehouse which has plenty of space both in & out.  Most shelters are made here now and taken flat pack to the camp which has become so full that finding enough space to erect shelters has become an issue.
