Hi Val,
I had just promised myself not to read any more depressing stuff for
today at least, however, I saw this article in today's Guardian and
thought I had to share it with you. If there are really only 6000
people in the Calais camp, how come we cannot take them all? I feel so
despondent about the UK, France but also Dutch Governments. I keep on
thinking 'how can you let your fellow human beings live like that?'
What if the roles were reversed, 'would you expect to live in such
conditions, or would you hope for a more humane reception and help?'
Also, why is there no Red Cross presence?
Sending you another cheque tomorrow for Laura and Sid.
Best wishes to you and Malcolm,
Ellyxx

Val says I feel like you Elly but let us think of the positives. You and others keep donating, a group of people are up in Calais helping, Jacky Malatoux has gone to Greece to help again. The situation there is dire, so many deaths. Michelle Jones has just said they can drive a couple of matresses, a futon, two childrens bikes and various mens clothes, mainly trousers to the Toulouse group helping refugees. They are now asking for oil heaters, oil radiators, various forms of heating for cold damp flats, hot water bottles and kettles.
If you have any of these try and get them to Michelle Jones in St. Ant in the next week, up to the 16th.
Thank you, thank you for caring and helping,to all our readers xxx
