Trying to keep everybody happy, why?

Hi Val

You mentioned a worry that the blog might offend some people who did not feel the need to help refugees (or even that refugees should not be helped). So what, it is your blog after all. I only read it because of your stand and was a little disappointed to see this content moved to a separate page. However I conceed that editing the mix can be delicat. When a post offering “pay handsomely ” for help to repatriate golf clubs ended up alongside the worthy cause of fundraising for Laura and Sid the words insensitive, egocentric (among others) sprung quite unjustly to mind. I unkindly thought “sell the F***ing clubs and give the money to the cause”, but we all have our own preoccupations! I would probably added a button “who cares”, but that is just me.

Val says I agree with you C it is my blog but to make money for my charities I have to balance viewing figures for the people who pay money to advertise. Fortunately figures are shooting up and we are gaining new readers hand over fist. So everyone can be happy.
The idea of a separate label is so we have all the info in one spot but I know the immediacy of being there on the front page is important.
