Putin in Paris

Liberation takes Warhol expo in Paris to make a point
The Russian president Vladimir Putin will meet French counterpart Francois Hollande in Paris today.
The talks were designed to be about the Ukraine, but Syria has pushed its way onto the agenda. We as with many others are adamant that the Syrian refugee crisis can only be solved by political action and both France and Russia (as with America and Britain) have decided that military action against ISIS/IL/Daech  will improve things. If Russian planes continue to bomb in western Syria there will be more refugees crossing into Lebanon and Jordan and if US and French action continues in east and central Syria then the position in Iraq could be even worse.
With over a quarter of a million deaths in Syria already it is no wonder folk are fleeing. As a young French friend said yesterday "we cant just leave them to starve and freeze on our doorstep". Let's hope that Putin, Hollande and Merkel can make some real progress n their talks today.
