Group order of food delicacies from the UK - be at the Book Swap or miss the chance

Dear Val
In January this year, a group of British expats living in these parts discovered something they have in common - each of them misses some British food item or other that they used to enjoy before moving to France, but which isn't sold here. So they did something about it. A company based near Bristol packages up groceries and sends them to destinations around the world. So these intrepid ten clubbed together and put in a combined order. The food arrived in 4 huge boxes, one of them chilled for things like sausages, pies, cheese and so on. Postage and package costs were greatly reduced by ordering as a group, rather than individually.

Now, a few months later, this group is ready to order again, and we'd welcome anyone else who comes to the monthly St Antonin Book Swap to join in and order with us. Here's what to do if you have a craving for odd British food items:

First step: go to the British Corner Shop web site and choose what you'd like. The address is http://www.britishcornershop.co.uk/. You can ignore log-in;  just click on Start Shopping or Shop Now and then view products by brand, search by name, or browse by group or by category. There's a tremendous range to choose from.

Second step: don't add anything to a Shopping Basket on the web site, but instead bring a note of what you've chosen, its brand, size and price, and your email address to the May Book Swap, at the Gazpacho, St Antonin at 10.30 on Monday May 5th. There won't be anything to pay in advance.

If you later find you are unable to pick up your order at the June Book Swap, we can make separate arrangements. The same applies if there were short-dated items or chilled food, in your order, which we'd need to get to you sooner.

x Chris
