A sixty year old man beaten up on the pavement was left for dead on the pavement.
Un sexagénaire passé à tabac sur le trottoir et laissé pour mort sur un trottoir.
Firstly my french was not up to " passé à tabac" which I imagined the man was going past a bar or cafe / tabac, which my French Prof Malcolm tells me means beaten up. Also I could not see why the Depeche would use trottoir/ pavement twice in the sentence!
So back to the story where a 60 year old man was beaten up and left for dead in an area in Toulouse known for prostitution, he had not been robbed, it was 3 am when he was found by a riverain/ someone who lives there.
