Yesterday morning at Cahors the heavens opened and torrential rain came down flooding streets and roads affecting traffic and shops in the area. The sapeurs pompiers were working overtime trying to clear blocked drains along with a team of municipal workers.
Described as " très fortes averses orageuses " very strong stormy downpours.
I am beginning to dread this sort of weather, as if you are hit one way or another you have some sort of expensive time consuming problem afterwards. Quite often problems are sorted in one place to be discovered later another problem somewhere else. After our last storm when both of our houses had electricity tripping afterwards we found certain appliances affected. Having nearly sorting out that set of problems we find a few days later the lights had blown in the pigeonnier, one outside needing replacing, and then we checked the electrics over at the pool house with the same result.
At least our flood defences seemed to work... that time
