A salutary tale of a garden well, with a happy ending

A little six year old boy was playing in the family garden at Beaumont- de- Lomagne when the iron cover  on which he was standing collapsed catapulting the boy down into a well/ puit. The family were alerted by his cries and phoned for the pompiers. His uncle and a neighbour speedily attached a big plastic waste bin to a line and the boy who was holding on to a hose which went down to syphon the water to the surface was  then rescued by the uncle. The boy was taken to hospital to warm him and check him over.
