Chateau de Mauriac in the Tarn, near Gaillac

What a good day out this is . Think of having lunch at the Chateau de Salettes (looks like a bus shed from one angle but is much nicer from another angle and certainly nice inside. ) Toilets have throw away towels and the tables have statues or artwork. Lunch time menu is more expensive than table d'hote at most places but very nicely done.
Then down the road is the Chateau de Mauriac, open every day from 1st of May to 30th of Oct. from 15h to 18h.Sundays sur rendez vous. It is an amazing place with all the walls and ceilings painted by the owner /artist Bernard Bistes. You are constantly amazed as you enter one room after another with flower paintings, nudes, highly decorated ceilings. Hard to explain so worth going to see.
