Val!
It worries me not a little that, as far as I can see, there is no mention of identification when advertising animals for re-homing on tag-lines. Like it or not it is the law in France that any dog, cat, horse, ferret & probably other animals, must be micro-chipped before it can change hands. If it is a puppy the mother’s micro-chip number must be mentioned in the advertisement. It doesn’t make any difference if it is a gift, a rescue or a purchase, the rule is the same for all.
Sally.
Val says Like it or not says Sally. Sally I love it, if only everyone would comply. How right you are about the necessity of micro chipping, indeed so many dogs would not need homes if their owners had done this in the first place. Most of the dogs are now from Maeva at the dog pound in St. Antonin who knows and operates the rules exactly as they should be. Monty the other dog rehomed by Roger had been micro chipped and if Fanfaron is ever rehomed that will also happen. Earlier dogs and cats of which there have now been many were microchipped before leaving their owners. Thanks for your concerns Sally not just on a point of law but on an absolute necessity. TAG has now rehomed many dogs and cats and rest assured they do not go anywhere without being identified. Don't think we have had ferrets yet but never say never!
