An orchard already planted.

What trees are you going to plant, Val? We have planted a quince, a cherry, an almond, a peach and a Bramley apple (!) since we got here in 2007...it never occurred to us to bother about how long it might take for the trees to grow to full height. The quince is already covered in fruit and the tiny Bramley looks as though it will produce a bumper crop this year! Good luck with it.

Val says We already have in the main body of the garden, two figs, a cherry tree, a peach [just planted last year] and two apples also planted last year, two old victoria plum trees which give delicoius plums and of course prunes des cochons by the thousand. We have quince  in every boundary hedge so no need of that, but the blossom is just beautiful. Top of the list will be a mirabel, over the road in the neighbours house just sold there were two mirabels which we were allowed to harvest and this may not happen anymore.
Fortunately Malc must have had the two glasses of wine I had as we are both planning what we would like together, and it makes me look forward to the autumn.
I need to find a big tree variety that grows quickly, does not have to be a chestnut but something like that, any ideas readers?
