The Mating Tree

You know I told you about the mating tree, well it has now been used. ( Not me and Malc, you sillies)  the kestrel pair have been having a lovely afternoon. The male  gracefully alighting on the female with wings flapping, and it was the ritual tree again that was used. We had decided that the pair were just going in and out tidying up the nest in readiness for the eggs, now we know the eggs  have been fertilised. We must see if next year we can rigg up a nest camera, that would be really something.
My favourite part is when the fledglings appear at the entrance to the hole in the wall and for a few days look just like " Orville"  with a big beak and sticky up fuzzy hair, remember Rod Hull  or was that Emu?
Before all the emails, Orville was the duck of Chris Harris
