France has no form of specialist chariable nurses neither a Macmillian type for cancer or nor Admiral for demencia. Such provision as there is, is from the state and it is getting better. A Welshman who developed dementia, and his wife, over here had wonderful support from a dementia care specialist.
There is an English cancer support called Cancer Support France has a national helpline but no specific assistance here.
as to our personal charitable giving we sponsor children through Plan International, something we started in the UK but have carried it on in France - the tax releif is so much better so now we support 4 children not two! India, Malawi and Ethiopia. We have seen the Indian children - a wonderful experience and we can both recommend the organisation and its results
