The 'Chasse' is underway.

The chasse season runs in France from Sept. to the end of Feb. The exact opening each time is decided by the regional prefet depending on the situation with  'animaux sauvage' at the time. For example  if the wild sangliers are becoming a nuisance the chasse can start a bit earlier. Hunters must have a permit, ' permis de chasser' and a theory and practical exam must be passed. An obligatory training course must be taken and the exam at the end passed.  Candidates must be over 15 years old and you cannot get the certificate if you are on medication which could affect your judgement. They must all have insurance. Now are we all reassured!!
