Prepare for a hard winter

We are used to the American "groundhog day" when a hibernating animal predicts the arrival of spring, but it appears that bears can predict how hard the winter will be. Keepers at a French zoo have noticed over the years that the bears dig a deeper den if the winter is going to be colder than usual. This year they have already begun to dig deep and line the den with lots of leaves, regardless of the very mild autumn we have had so far. So take note and get the logs in...
