I wanted to thank you and all your readers for your fantastic support of Festilitt, Parisot’s third Franco - Anglo literary festival which was held last weekend. Many of your readers donated books for our second hand book sale which was a big success and raised 1,500€. Since Festilitt is offered entirely free of charge the book sale proceeds make a really important contribution to our running costs. So thank you to everyone who donated books.
The festival was a sell out success with a full house for talks by Helen Dunmore and Kate Mosse, and a full house again for the ‘dinner with the authors’ on Saturday night. We had a combined French - English session which was huge fun with nearly 80 French and English participants sharing impressions and views of untranslatable words from Ella Sanders’ wonderful book ‘Lost in Translation’. I thought you and your readers might like to see a short film made of the festival which I think captures very well its intimate and convivial atmosphere.
