Trapped in his lorry for 6 hours

On the A62 a man in his forties was trapped in his lorry for 6 hours before he could be released. The story in the Depeche says medical services were set to amputate to get him out but it does not make it clear if this happened. The man was then helicoptered to Toulouse, where vital signs were positive.
There are many accidents reported . I reckon you would not want to work in traffic police here unless you had strong nerves. Many years ago we had a relative who was a traffic policeman on a motorway and he had tales too horrific to tell but it did affect him and he and colleagues had regular  counselling.
