A baby donkey needing nourishing

Hi Val,

I hope this gets to you as i can't find your phone number - which must be
somewhere!
I was at Gandoules this morning collecting my bread and discovered that
there is a baby donkey there who lost its mother in the tempest and is not
eating and if not cared for will die. Any ideas who could help?
Susanne
Val says I have forwarded this email to Jan at Liberte des Anes but if a reader can help please contact

Hi Val
I think it's best to find out who the owner is and maybe We could help with
the vets bills if they really can't afford to get it treated, does it belong
to a dealer ?
Very importantly, on Friday one pony here started coughing so I gave her
Tumeric/pepper and oil, thinking it may be the hay which I've now started
soaking, but then the next day her friend was coughing, so rang the vet and
as it was a sat am she wouldn't come out, so I've been in to the local vets
to buy a balsamic syrup for horses, so I have an isolation problem here with
no other donkeys coming into my big barn where I have these two isolated....
Washing my hands well with disinfectant after each time I give them their
medication! It's obviously highly contagious and I can't risk any others
getting it aswell.

The vet needs calling, how old is it, who is the owner, is it down, does it

have access to grass, does it have donkey friends ? Wait to hear.
Val says I have asked Susan these questions and await a reply.
