The petition is on change.org

If you too feel strongly that it is our right to have the winter fuel allowance please go to the site change.org and sign the petition I have put on. We paid our taxes and national insurance all our working lives and to be denied this allowance is just not right. The government do not seem to be listening so far so let us see if this petition has any impact.  change.org

Apparently the way it works is you let all your friends on facebook and twitter know and then it is taken up. I will email all our friends and TAG subscribers.
I will find a snowy picture also to go in the petition.  Go to it - TAGGERS who feel we have been treated unfairly. Below is the sample letter that it is suggested you send out.

Hello!
I've started the petition "The Government: Restore the winter fuel allowance to expats" and need your help to get it off the ground.
Will you take 30 seconds to sign it right now? Here's the link:

Here's why it's important:

Important because many pensioners living abroad on fixed incomes live in winter climates colder than England and should be entitled to this benefit. We spent our working lives paying taxes and national insurance and it should now be our right.
In our part of SW France and we know in other areas winter temperatures are much colder than in England and are often below 10 C.
There are many retired people who struggle to afford to keep warm in the winter  and if you are old or ill keeping warm is even more important.

You can sign my petition by clicking here.
Thanks!
Valerie Johnstone
