Speed, alcohol and tiredness cause the most accidents on the roads

One reason why the government is talking about reducing speed limits on minor roads that are 90 kms to 80 kms an hour is they think this would save  450 people dying on the roads.. I am not sure how they work this out but if that figure was correct it has got to be worth doing. I am always amazed that if cars were foolish enough to, they could drive along our country lanes at 90 km an hour. Now I would not advise that as with all the pot holes in the road it would be a shaky ride. Fortunately we get very little traffic other than the odd car and even odder old tractor.
