I do not know how to report this one. Today on the outskirts of Toulouse the gendarmes many in black face masks raided a Roma camp and arrested 15 people, caught in possession of stolen goods. The 15 have been taken into custody. In that camp there would be perfectly ordinary families just wanting a better life and how frightening for the children being faced with masked gunmen. Now I know that certain Roma gypsies are known for their thieving and I have nearly been robbed myself by two women whilst in Toulouse shopping. On the other hand I hate this xenophobia which appears to be sweeping the country and it just makes me think about the last war and the persecution of the Jews. It starts insidiously and slowly infects us all. If we are not hating muslims, we are hating the Romas. Why do we have to be so judgmental? You might think if I was surrounded by gypsies I may feel differently, but as I have said you are allowed to comment.
