I am totally with you Val. Talk about overkill! Black face masks to arrest some people who have stolen goods in their possession is OTT. I wonder if this is standard practice in France, i.e. would the police also dress like gangsters if they raided a non-Roma suspect's house in a village or town? To me it sounds like a bullying and fear-inducing tactic. Your point about Muslim and Jewish people and other minority groups is well made.
