My partner Rod and I moved to France about seven years ago from the UK. At the time we were running our own business, working as business development consultants, for global media, PR and public affairs agencies. My dream was always to move to France and establish a retreat however when we came here we didn’t know how we were going to achieve that. As life has a way of opening doors, when others close, I found I now had the opportunity to retrain – and I qualified as clinical hypnotherapist. I specialise in Virtual Gastric Band hypnotherapy, stress and anxiety management, smoking cessation, sleeping difficulties, phobias, fears, past life regression and depression… to name a few. Besides that I work with my clients on self belief and motivation – how to visualise and create what they really want to do with their life. Both Rod and I believe that each of us is capable of creating our own vision of what we would like to achieve. Of course, there are life challenges to overcome along the way!
Recently we set up our retreat and run six and five day programmes in Heal & Rejuvenate; Weight Loss & Virtual Gastric Band; Smoking Cessation & Wellbeing and Phobias, Fears and Anxiety. Besides that we offer private retreats and personalised packages. During retreats, we tend to cater to a maximum of four people at once so that each individual receives our full attention. On day and half day retreats we do larger groups, practicing relaxation; self hypnosis; confidence building and such like.
The Virtual Gastric Band that I studied for separately is the only gastric band hypnotherapy group worldwide that has undergone clinical trials by the NHS – achieving a 95% success rate. The procedure is about convincing the subconscious mind that the band has been fitted. It is not a diet it’s about eating consciously and eating whatever you like. It’s amazing how many of us are always thinking guiltily about what we eat. This only creates more need in us to eat! By changing that thought process, individuals don’t think obsessively about food or their weight – and they begin to loose weight until their reach their desired goal.
Val says one of the interesting things about being editor is getting to look at all these excellent websites before anyone else. I could fancy a few days at this place just chilling out, but I wonder if they could cope with the hens, donkeys, dogs, cats and Malc being unloaded from my suitcase?
