We sold our house near the castle in Najac early in 2010. I can’t remember what broadband speed we had there but I think it was about 5 or 6 Mbps.
In the summer of 2011 whilst on holiday a friend in the Faubourg (where the Sunday market is held) let me have his Wi-Fi access code and sitting on a bench in the square with my laptop I was getting 10 Mbps, so in his house it could have been double that.
So relatively high speed broadband has been around in Najac for a few years.
The Mairie also arranged for a Wimax service to help people in the outlying areas and this was set up at about the time we left Najac. I think the transmitter is on the mobile phone mast at the football field so Elly would be about 2½ km away which is well within reach. It might be worth her asking about it at the Mairie.
