New scoring chart for foods

From next month packaged foods will have a "Nutri-score", ranging from green for good to red for unhealthy.
The government has worked with producers to agree a system which consumers found most helpful. The scheme is voluntary and will not replace the mandatory list of nutritional ingredients shown on food packaging. The minister for health hopes that manufacturers and consumers will adopt the new system to help show which foods use too much fat, salt or sugar. Over 30% of French people are overweight and around 12% said to be obese.
