Fifi Ladies having aperos at the Chateau of Parisot

A delightful evening in Spring at the Chateau of Parisot, Friends in France International enjoyed the ambience of the ancient building which is now a comfortable home. Mary Parkes, the most beautiful lady there( do not like to mention ages, but Mary is well in to her eighties ) felt she would like to try out the choristers loo.
The evening was super but the person who we all agreed is FIFI , Doreen Porter was not there.  Get better soon Doreen, you are missed.

This made me smile, a report in The Depeche taken from the Scottish Medical Journal shows that the level of sperm in men has been dropping for 50 years. Accompanying this report is a picture of three men in kilts, as apparently the wearing of a kilt  "sans sous vetements" would help the problem. So no longer a useless national symbol but a way the clans of Scotland can procreate and  take over the world. Any reader with a picture of themselves in a kilt ? This was not quite what I had expected!

Fancy a house exchange to lovely Spa town, Harrogate?

Hello Val
Could you please send out an appeal on behalf of Doreen and Gavin Porter.
Due to Doreen being ill they will not be able to fulfil their obligation for a house exchange. They feel terrible letting their exchangers down as they have paid for their flights and it was their only means of a family holiday after spending large sums on school excursions.
The family of 2 adults and 2 responsible teenagers wish to ideally exchange or possibly rent an inexpensive gite/home. Their home is in Harrogate which is a wonderful spa town. Unanimous vote from French Parliament

The French Parliament has voted unanimously to keep troops in Mali and prolong the mission there. A French Colonel had warned that the Malian troops suffered from lack of training and were under funded. PM Jean Marc Ayrault vowed French forces would remain until the operation could be declared a military success.

No mutts with ribbons here

Montauban on Sunday at the Salle des Fetes du Marche Gare will be a " concours de beaute" with 700 dogs in exposition. You can expect to see every class of dog and if you wondered what breed you fancy buying it is a good day out to go and see which dog gets best of breed after strutting their stuff. When our Bonny the golden retriever was a young dog we went to see her sister and aunt winning prizes. Bonny did not think much of it, all those clean looking dogs not running around having fun.
We enjoyed a very interesting morning and if you like dogs it is a pleasant way to spend a morning. In fact we may have readers who are exhibiting their pooches. The " Spicey ladies" also breed Golden Retrievers so they may be showing if they have a prize dog at the moment.

Funny old world

You may enjoy reading an article in the Telegraph yesterday by Michael Wright who lives in the Limousin, " Disillusionment comes home to la France profonde"
The French are fed up of political scandals and apparently his French friends in Paris are packing up and moving to Australia.
Seems quite amusing to me as we have spent an afternoon hosting a get together of  Australians who have emigrated to France for a better way of life. If you recall the interview with the immobilier, one of the nationalities at the top of the list buying houses here was Australian. Funny old world.

Following  on , Alison says   Ian and I did not move to France for a better life - we had (and will have in the future) a great quality of life in Western Australia. Our 2 reasons for moving to France (never permanently) are that, firstly - we wished to do more travelling and WA is so far from Europe and costly. The second reason is that we relished the challenge of living in a foreign country, learning their language and experiencing a different way (and quality) of life. We love living in France but will never lose our affinity with and love for the Australian way of life.

Je suis arrivé sur votre blog Tag, et j'aurais aimé savoir si il existait quelques photos de la prestation de Duality. Je suis un des 2 musiciens et j'ai vu une personne prendre des clichés (video ? peut-être ?) au moyen d'une tablette ( Ipad ?) de couleur blanche. Peut-être était-ce vous ?
