We have just been to the vet in Parisot who gave the abandoned dog from Najac a full examination and thinks she is about 7 or 8 years old.
The dog is in generally good health and her heart and lung functions are fine. She is underweight which is not surprising as she has been roaming Najac for at least 10 days and possibly a few weeks or longer.
The vet thinks she has been neutered but only a urine test would confirm that.
She is eating and sleeping well, is perfectly domesticated and has settled with us after less than a day.
She travels well in the back of the car and is obviously used to it.
She is a very calm and affectionate dog who would make a lovely pet for someone.
Unfortunately we cannot keep her for long as we already have our own Irish Setter (who is upset by the new interloper) and we will be going back to England soon.
We really hope that one of your readers will adopt her. We are happy for anyone to call us and come and meet the dog or we could come to you or meet half way somewhere.She really deserves a good home.
