If you are in Toulouse this weekend try to pop in to the Theatre du Capitole, which is opening its doors free to visitors to see how it stages its operas. Visits behind the scenes and the chance to hear excerpts from well known works. Even try on a costume or sing in the chorus.
As part of a Europe-wide initiative to introduce more of the public to the art form, over 850000 visitors have taken the opportunity of the last 10 years.
