After spending many hours cursing Malc did find the fosse covers and yesterday the young beautiful fosse inspector arrived. She gave a thumbs up to both fosses after sticking a long bamboo pole down and swishing it about. An incongruous job I felt for a young lady but a pleasanter individual you could not find. We did have to pay her for the visit but she was very apologetic as under a government scheme we should have been checked for free a few months ago but somehow missed being on the list.

Oh! dear Malc thinks this has a definite sexist slant, so if you are sitting at home tutting, my apologies. Still it is not a job I would fancy, stirring turds!
